Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Signature Rod ordering process work?
Ordering is easy! Call me or Email me your contact information and I will call you to discuss your Bamboo rod needs. If you are buying one of my Signature Series rods there are a few options we will need to nail down such as Cane, Hardware and Wrap colors. Also in order to custom size the grip to your hand we will take your hand measurement over the phone. Once the details are worked out I will create a Customer Build Sheet with all the specifics of your order. That's it!
How does the Custom Rod ordering process work?
The process begins with a discussion of what you are looking to have built. We will talk through the specifics until we have a solid understanding of the build details, price and delivery. Once the details are worked out I will create a Customer Build Sheet with all the specifics of your order. I will keep you updated as the build progresses.
Is a deposit required when ordering?
A $400 non-refundable deposit is required before I begin the actual build process with the balance due upon completion.
What is the wait time for a Fly Rod
I work off of a customer build list on a first come first served basis. As I build all rods from start to finish my build times fluctuate with my current order list. The current build time for a new custom order is approximately 3 - 4 months. My Signature Rods have a shorter lead time than a full custom build. Call or Email me for an up to date estimate and to have your name added to the build list.
Balance Due & Payments?
The balance on a rod or blank is due when your rod or blank is finished and ready to ship. I'm always happy to setup a payment schedule that works best for you to help spread out the cost during the build.
How do you ship?
I ship via USPS when possible. Price estimates can be figured via USPS.com. Delivery time is normally 2 business days for Express Mail and 4-6 days for Priority Mail. Per your preference, I can also ship via FedEx, DHL or UPS . The buyer is responsible for the shipping cost plus insurance. Insurance can often exceed the cost of the actual shipping, especially in the case of rods. I do strongly recommend insuring the rod. I can happily provide a shipping estimate upon placing your rod order. Rods are securely packaged and usually weigh around 3 pounds boxed and ready to ship from zip code 54220.
What is your Warranty?
Weymouth Rod Works guarantees the original owner with a Lifetime Warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. If the rod should fail due to a defect in material or workmanship, we will repair or replace the rod, at our discretion, and return it to you. Contact me with the details of the quality issue. Simply return the complete rod to me so that can make any needed repairs.
If a rod is damaged and it is your fault, I'm happy to work with you to repair or replace the part at a very reasonable cost.
Where are your rods and blanks made?
Be assured that all Weymouth bamboo rods are crafted from a select culm of Tonkin cane and are made from start to finish by myself in my shop located in Manitowoc Wisconsin.
