For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Madison 6’6″ 4wt 2/1 bamboo rod with a labeled weight of 2 3/4 oz. Serial #68395 made in 1973. The rod is in very good condition. All wraps are sound. Both sections are straight and full length. Chestnut brown silks over the caramel colored tempered cane give this rod a striking appearance. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. Cigar grip with skinny nose characteristic of shorter Orvis rods. The rod has a lovely full flexing medium-fast action. The ferrules are 10/64 and the fit is excellent. Original bag and tube with green and silver label. Note that the tube has a small dent in its side (see picture). This is a fine example of a classic Orvis rod.
