D. Petty 8014 Bamboo Fly rod

Description

This gently used 8′ 0″, 2 pc, 2 tip bamboo fly rod was made by Wisconsin rod maker David Petty. Modeled after Lyle Dickerson’s classic 8014 taper, this 6wt rod is a powerful rod for throwing those bigger flies to the far side. The light caramel cane is complemented with dark claret wraps. Total rod weight is 4.6 oz.  Fit with a reverse wells style grip that has a thumb/forefinger depression popularised by South Bend. The nickel silver cap and ring reel style seat is coupled with a light hardwood spacer. Serial #109707. The nickel silver ferrule fit is good, the rod has been checked out and is ready for the stream. Comes with a quality rod bag. Rod tube not included.
